Make Your Resolutions Stick

by jasonvistaprint on December 30, 2009

It’s that time of year, when one year ends and another year starts.  It’s the time of year when you start to think about what you really want to do and how you’re going to do it in the next year.  Health clubs, diet programs, and other businesses capitalize on this, assuming that “this will be the year” that people finally take the initiative to step up and achieve their goals.  This means they will sign contracts, join gyms, and get the motivation to get the help they need.

It’s no different in small business.  Now is the time for your small business to look ahead to 2010 and decide what you want to do better, what you want to achieve, and how you’re going to get there.  But the thing about resolutions is that the majority of the time, people never actually stick to them for long, much less achieve the end goal.

So for 2010 in your small business, pick one small, very achievable resolution that you can stick to and capitalize on. Maybe it’s something as simple as sending your first email marketing campaign to see if it has any impact on your business.  You could even just add a product or service that you think your customers have wanted for some time and track the impact.  Make sure you write it down, including the goals, so you can refer back and see how you’ve done.

It doesn’t have to be anything major, and in fact should be something small, something you can achieve, and something you can look back on  at this time next year…..when you’re coming up with 2011 resolutions.

What will your resolutions be this year? Did you achieve the ones you set forth last year?

In today's market when businesses are closing and it's getting harder to find a job. Most of us are turning to home based businesses are even Network Marketing businesses. After taking a look at several different Network Marketing Businesses and I found that the compensation plan for Ardyss International compares to none. They have a 40% rule which makes it impossible for only one person to make money. Meaning; not only the who signed you up gets paid you will make the same thing. It's called matching bonuses. Check out our website and take a look at the compensation plan. If you are interested in signing up you would want to sign up with a Team that cares about the success of every team member.

Many of us makes their new years resolution but the problem is they only say that but they don't even work hard to achieve that resolution.

I need to make a lot of changes both in my life and in my bookkeeping habits (or lack of) for my husband's consulting business. At the beginning of every new year I'm in a pile of receipts trying to piece together what happened through out the year. It's not fun and avoidable. Shame on me! I'm hoping to turn it all around in 2010.

Here is a resolution that all small busines owners must keep:

Refresh Your Website - Many small businesses are guilty of having static websites. (FYI a static website is one that you put up a while ago, let's say more than a year ago and you have not added one new update or change) Your search engine optimization is dependent on your website having FRESH and RELEVANT content. Work with your webmaster to post new information to your site. Or you purchase software like Adobe Contribute will allow you to update the website on your own with ease.

Happy Website Refreshing in 2010!
