Business cards have been around since the 15th century in China. Since that time the cards have evolved into a variety of sizes, shapes and can be used in a variety of ways in businesses.
I have seen florists us their business cards as note cards to attach to bouquets, while doctors offices are notorious for adding an appointment section on the backside of their cards. Another good use for cards was by the sandwich shop down the road from my office that has a sub club. With each purchase, my card is stamped and when I have six punches, I receive a free sub. All of these cards allow the businesses to stay in the consumer’s mind and the card’s life is extended because it is needed for a specific use and ensures multiple views to the company’s contact information and logo.
No matter the use of the cards, one of the most important things is designing the card. Your business card says a lot about your business and is the first thing that many clients or potential partners may see. You need to make sure that it reflects your company and conveys your brand messaging.
Creating a card can be difficult if you are not a wizard with graphic design. However the internet provides a number of sites that offer easy design options.
